Showtime Wants David Tua To Step It Up

The Showtime network has recently expressed interest in backing up the 35 year old Samoan Heavyweight boxer David Tua if he steps up his level of opposition. They are interested in him because he is a heavy hitter not afraid to bang and had some great wars in his career like his duel with Ike Ibeabuchi and Hasim Rachman. David Tua's biggest fight was against Lennox Lewis where he lost a 12 round unanimous decision. He hasn't fought since September 2007, where he defeated Cerrone Fox via 2nd round tko, but there's a possibility Showtime might set up a fight between him and undefeated US contender Chris Arreola. They already tried for a May date recently, but Tua said that was a little too early to be ready. But, that may mean that the two may fight sometime by the end of the year.

I like Tua and I think if he did step it up, he could make some interesting match ups in the future including with the Klitschko brothers.
