Klitschko vs Pianeta May 4th

It looks like it's finally official that WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO/RING heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (59-3, 50 KO) will take on Italian heavyweight Francesco Pianeta.  It looks as though the WBA has approved of the optional defense instead of facing WBA regular champion Alexander Povetkin.  The details as to why Wladimir is not anxious to face Povetkin has nothing to do with being afraid of him.  Povetkin has pulled out twice in the past when they were going to meet and most likely there are negotiation problems.

The 28 year old Pianeta has a solid record of (28-0-1, 15 KO) and also matches up physically with Wladimir standing at 6'5" and is also a southpaw which are never easy to fight.

I don't see this fight lasting long and will showcase Wladimir's physical arsenal.  Look for a Povetkin fight later in the year which I think will be even easier of a fight than this one for Wladimir and maybe a 3rd fight down the road with someone such as Jennings this year.

Wladimir Klitschko Displays Judo Skills

This is a video I just discovered where current IBF/WBO/SUPER WBA/IBO/RING heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko displays a judo throw and performs an armbar at a school in Dneprodzerzhinsk, Ukraine. If anyone has additional information please comment.

He also talked about mma recently and said , "To be honest I didn't really like [MMA] before. But when I was watching it, I got into the style of MMA and I think I have a lot of respect for MMA fighters. It's a very tough sport... You have to be so multi-functional, you have to be a wrestler, you have to be a good kickboxer, you have to be a good boxer, you have to be with good condition." "I want to try the fitness. Just get in an MMA gym and just practice certain things. I used to wrestle, and I did judo when I was younger. As training, as fitness, perfect. Fighting, no."
