Klitschko Quotes

“I am in an excellent shape and had a perfect preparation and fight in Los Angeles. I can hardly wait to step into the ring again. Kevin Johnson is very dangerous. He already had 23 fights as a pro and is undefeated. He is technically much better than my last opponent Arreola. I know I can`t underestimate Johnson but I have no doubt to keep the WBC belt.”

Johnson Quotes

“I’ve been working hard for this chance and I will definitely take it. On December 12th, there will finally be an American heavyweight champion again. I am sorry for ruining Klitschko’s Christmas holidays.”

“Vitali`s performance against Chris Arreola in Los Angeles showed his extra class. With Kevin Johnson, Vitali will again face a very strong contender. Johnson is undefeated, self-conscious and knows what a great chance this will be for him. The PostFinance-Arena in Bern is a fantastic venue and the right arena for a huge title fight.”

Vitali Klitschko Has Scuffle In Ukranian Parliament

The WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko recently got into a scuffle while fighting corruption in Ukrainian parliament! He was in the middle of a mass brawl in the Ukrainian parliament as a result of his bid to battle corrupt politicians.

"If anyone resorts to force, then I'll resort to force too," Klitschko said as the brawl broke out. The reason the brawl took place was because Klitschko was angered by the session's inability to approve a land redistribution, so he and his allies tried to stop the proceedings.

"I didn't hit anyone, I just tried to push a few people away," Klitschko told television channel 1+1 afterwards. He also said that in a real fight he, "could have led to certain lawmakers being admitted to hospital."

Here's the video footage of what happened:

Rappaport Denies Vitali Klitschko vs Maskaev

Oleg Maskaev's name had been brought up as a potential match-up for the WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko to fight in December. The veteran promoter of former WBC heavyweight champion Oleg Maskaev, Dennis Rappaport has denied reports that Maskaev could face Klitschko.

“No one has contacted us about the fight,” said Rappaport on Wednesday afternoon. Fred Kesch, the manager of Maskeav, also denied that Maskaev could be next for Klitschko.

However, Maskaev is scheduled to face someone on December 11th at the Memorial Auditorium in Sacramento, California against a name opponent.

Vitali Klitschko vs Kevin Johnson In December?

Reportedly, the current WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (38-2-0, 37 KO's) might secure a bout with undefeated American heavyweight Kevin Johnson (22-0, 9 KO’s) sometime in December of this year. Oleg Maskaev also came up as a possible name, but this is mainly due to there not being that many opponents for Klitschko to choose from at this time. According to boxrec, Vitali is already scheduled to face Johnson, but nothing is confirmed as of now.

Out of the 2 Johnson would make the better choice. He's young, undefeated, and Vitali may like the idea of fighting again on American soil against another American fighter. Oleg is pretty old now and would give Vitali no opposition in my opinion.

The Johonson fight should be easy for Vitali. Johnson doesn't appear to have much power as indicated by his record, and although he has a nice jab he used to control fights, the 6'3" Johnson isn't going to be able to use the same strategy that has worked for him against smaller and lesser opposition than Vitali.

If this fight happens look for Vitali to add another undefeated fighter on his win column, and this time in much quicker fashion than his last bout with Arreola.
