Klitschko Chambers Press Conference
Yesterday was the 1st press conference at the ESPRIT arena in Düsseldorf, Germany (where the fight will be as well) for the upcoming IBF, WBO, IBO heavyweight championship title fight between current champion Wladimir "Steelhammer" Klitschko and top ranked American heavyweight contender "Fast" Eddie Chambers.
This will be the 2nd fight for Wladimir in a soccer stadium. The ESPRIT arena in Düsseldorf, which is the home field of the Fortuna Düsseldorf, will have a capacity of 51,000 seats. Wladimir's last fight with Ruslan Chagaev in June 2009 was at Schalke Arena with 61,000 spectators....
Klitschko Quotes
“This is a great arena and the idea of more than 50.000 spectator gives me additional motivation. After a break of 7 months I am really looking forward to stepping back into the ring. Chambers is a very strong and quick opponent; therefore he is the number 1 in the WBO ranking. But for me, there is no doubt that I will win the fight and keep my belts.”
Chambers Quotes
“Sure, Klitschko is the favorite. But I will surprise him and shock the boxing world when I take his titles to the US on March 20.”

Valuev Turns Down Vitali Klitschko's Offer
It's been recently reported that former WBA heavyweight champion (who is coming off a loss to David Haye) has turned down $1 million to fight current WBC Vitali Klitschko in a voluntary defense.
It's my opinion that this is a fair amount of money considering Vitali Klitschko is taking all the risk and doesn't have much to gain other than making a fairly intriguing (for the size factor alone) match for the fans, and making some extra money before he retires. I think Valuev shoud take the offer although I imagine there may be just some negotiation strategy involved here and that be more to do with it than Valuev not wanting to fight. I believe that since Valuev isn't champion Don King shouldn't worry about losing leverage since he has nothing to lose and everything to gain if he takes this offer with Valuev. Here's what the fighters had to say...
Vitali Klitschko Quotes
“I’m an acting world champion, while Valuev isn’t even a contender. I have the right to make a voluntary defense and I decided myself on whom to present a chance to fight for the champion’s belt. I decided to give this chance to Nikolay. I called back to Valuev and made him an offer. I offered him the fee for the fight. It’s money that correlates with his size. He took the time to think it over. I called him again several days later. He recommended that I continue the negotiations with Don King."
Valuev Quotes
“He offered me the same amount as he did to his last opponent Kevin Johnson. A million? Yes, Vitali offered me that amount. But for me that sum is unacceptable.”

Haye vs Ruiz Is Official
It's official. The newly crowned WBA champion David "Hayemaker" Haye will have his 1st title defense against former champion and ring veteran John "The Quietman" Ruiz on April 3rd at the The MEN Arena in Manchester, UK.
David Haye has pulled out of 2 fights with the Klitschko's. The 1st fight was supposed to be with Wladimir Klitschko on June 20th, 2009, but Haye pulled out with a injury only to promise new dates to postpone. Klitschko instead fought Chagaev on the original date and won.
The 2nd time was with Wladimir's brother Vitali when negotiations were to the point where the fight was about to be signed only to be foiled by Haye signing to instead fight the WBC Nicolai Valuev.
Haye should win this fight to line up a potential fight with the Klitschko's, but I wouldn't be too surprised if Ruiz pulls off the upset.
The British channel Sky Sports is going to make this a pay-per-view event charging approx £15.00 (around $30.00) for the fight. The question is will the public be interested in seeing Haye fight Ruiz which has been in a few snore fests in the past which the public most likely will not have forgotten.
Haye Quotes
"It's been ten years since the heavyweight championship has been fought in Britain. Everyone knows I had to go to Germany to take the [WBA] title from Nikolai Valuev. Now it's time to showcase my skills again in front of the great British public. I'm delighted to have the fight at The MEN Arena. I've been there on many nights to watch Ricky Hatton, Joe Calzaghe, even Mike Tyson, and the atmosphere was always tremendous."

Wladimir Klitschko Quotes
“I am really happy to be back in the ring. I have only good memories of Düsseldorf, my only fight there I won by TKO. This fight is going to take place in a giant stadium. The audience of over 50,000 spectators is a further motivation for me. Chambers is currently the best heavyweight boxer from the US.”
Bernd Bönte Quotes
*Managing Director of the Klitschko Management Group......
“The Esprit arena is a state-of-the-art stadium and we are looking forward to presenting another boxing event in a football stadium. Together with the officials of the arena, who are very supportive in any way, we are planning a great event with well-priced tickets and expect to have a sold out venue.”

Ross Purrity Predicts Klitschko Over Chambers
In a recent interview, heavyweight boxing veteran Ross Puritty gave his thoughts on who he thinks will win this March 20th between current WBO, IBF, and IBO heavyweight champion Wladimir "Steelhammer" Klitschko and "Fast" Eddie Chambers.
Ross Purrity has fought both Wladimir Klitschko and Eddie Chambers and predicts that Wladimir Klitschko will defeat Chambers by utilizing his reach and jab.
It should be noted that Ross Puritty was the 1st man to defeat Wladimir when Wladimir ran out energy in the 11th round trying to show off while being in front of his home crowd for the 1st time in his professional boxing career.
Here's is a boxing show video which has Puritty gave his thoughts...
