Klitschko Mormeck Final Presser

Today was the final press conference at the "Intercontinental Hotel Düsseldorf" in Germany for the heavyweight championship fight between current IBF/WBO/IBO/SUPER WBA/RING heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (56-3, 49 KOs) and former cruiserweight champion turned heavyweight contender Jean-Marc Mormeck (36-4, 22 KOs) which will take place this Saturday, March 3rd. Both fighters appeared calm and there were no such antics as there were in the the lead up to his brother Vitali and Chisora's fight on February 18th...

Klitschko Quotes

“Jean-Marc Mormeck has a major goal: To became the first World Heavyweight Champion from France. He is very experienced and also has had a lot of title fights in his career. His size makes it even more difficult for me to hit him. I will do anything to make sure to keep the belts that I have been unifying in the last years.”

Mormeck Quotes

”I have an iron will and will break Wladimir Klitschko mentally. I am not afraid of anybody and I am sure that I will beat Klitschko and take his belts.”

Chisora Quotes

"Right now I can smell fear in this corner. They know they're about to lose something massive. I'm excited; I'm looking forward to this fight."

“The Klitschko team don’t like me because I’m wild and unpredictable and I’m not like any of the other challengers that bow down in front of them. It scares them because they no control over me.

The way I’m going to fight he won’t be able to keep up with the pace I’m going to set. It will be at a hundred miles an hour and his old legs won’t be able to keep up. I’m not scared of him, he’s human, he bleeds and so do I, I’m looking forward to this now, it’s so close.

It’s the end for Vitali, I promise you, I will end the Klitschko reign and cause a massive upset in my magic round eight that will be felt around the world.

It’s my dream to challenge for the WBC heavyweight championship of the world and secondly to be introduced by the legendary Michael Buffer into the ring.

It will be rounded off nicely to hear Buffer say the words ‘And the new heavyweight champion of the world, from London, England, Dereck Chisora.”

Klitschko Quotes

"You promise to knock me out in round 8... I train very hard, I take your word seriously. That's why I'm ready for the fight... Right now, no one can stop me."

“I’m looking into Chisora’s eyes and I see a young fighter who wants wants to win the world title. When he said that he was going to finish me in round eight I realized that this guy is serious and I have never prepared as hard for a fight.
But I’ve told him that he’s not the one to stop me, no one can, I’m going to show everyone why I am the champion and why I have ruled for so long.”

“No, you’re trying to be like Ali,” Chisora said.

Klitschko Adamek Press Conference

The 1st press conference was held today in Wroclaw, Poland for the upcoming WBC heavyweight championship fight between current champ Vitali Klitschko (42-2, 39 KO) and 2 time light heavyweight and cruiserweight champion and heavyweight contender Tomasz Adamek (44-1, 28 KO). Their fight will take place on September 10th in Wroclaw, Poland. This Polish venue is a 40,000 plus capacity brand new soccer arena in Wroclaw and is just a hundred miles from German border. A second press conference will take place tomorrow in Leipzig, Germany as well.

Vitali Klitschko Quotes

“I’m really happy to be here to fight Tomasz Adamek. It will be a great fight because Tomasz is a great contender, two time light heavyweight and cruiserweight world champion. I know his weakest and strongest points. I also know that size doesn’t matter in boxing. Only what you have in your heart, and your skills.”

Tomasz Adamek Quotes

“I’m ready to fight now, being in my boxing prime, not as some over the hill fighter. I have nothing to lose, I’m calm as always and it will be the same when I will be facing Vitali on September 10 in Wroclaw. I have to say thank you to Vitali to giving me this chance and I will do the best to make the best of it.”

Tom Leoffler Quotes

*Represents K2 promotions

“Adamek already fought a K2 fighter, Jonathon Banks and knocked him out. Now he will fight my boss, Vitali Klitschko."

*Klitschko's manager

“Wroclaw offered us the best deal and this made our decision easy. I will not disclose any numbers – we just don’t do that.

*** In regards to the fight being canceled should Wladimir lose in July***

It will not happen. There’s no possibility that Adamek-Klitschko could be cancelled. And just another thought, Wladimir will not be defeated by Haye.”

Klitschko Chisora Final Press Conference

Today was the final press conference for WBO/IBF/IBO/RING heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko and challenger Derek Chisora ahead of their title fight this Saturday, December 11th.

Wladimir Klitschko Quotes

“I had a great training camp in Austria and cannot wait to step into the ring. Chisora is unbeaten and determined, he is very skilled and very active in the ring. I am very well prepared and will definitely not underestimate him.

“I will show him what it is like to fight on a championship level against a man in the ring.

“He might have big dreams, but I will send him back to the UK without any belts.”

Dereck Chisora Quotes

“I have the power and I am young so I will take Klitschko into a real fight. Klitschko is 34-years-old, slow and on his downside of his career. I am 29-years-old, very fast and at the peak of my career.”

The fight will be shown live and exclusively on RTL in Germany. In the US, it will be aired on Saturday, Dec.11, 5:00 p.m. ET on ESPN3.com and re-aired the next day, Sunday, Dec. 12 at 2:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. Sky Sports will carry the fight live on pay per view in the UK.

Klitschko Chisora Press Conference

Today was the press conference in Mannheim, Germany for the upcoming WBO, IBF, IBO, and Ring heavyweight championship this December 11th between current champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KOs) and voluntary challenger Dereck Chisora (14-0, 9 KOs) which will take place at the SAP Arena in Mannheim, Germany.

Klitschko Quotes

“If you shake hands with Chisora at once you’ll understand that in his fists are a lot of power. I see Chisora in myself – young, self-confident, motivated. In some ways he’s similar to Vitali, who in 2003 had the same motivation before fight with Lennox Lewis. Nobody and nothing could stop him, he wanted to hold the title more than anything. I will give it all to win on December 11th. I won’t allow to dream of Chisora to come true.”

Chisora Quotes

“I saw fight the Klitschko-Briggs on Saturday. It was an embarrassment for boxing. Many Americans boxers come to Germany only with one dream – to survive twelve rounds and then cash their check. Money doesn’t interest me. I would fight only for the title of world champion and I will try to take Wladimir’s belts. In Germany he won the title, and here he will lose it. I’m not a person who speaks much. I simply am going to win on October 11th and take the title home.”

Klitschko Briggs Final Press Conference

Today was the final press conference for WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (40-2, 38 KOs) and former 2 time champion Shannon Briggs (51-5, 45 KOs), ahead of their fight this Saturday, October 16th at the o2 World in Hamburg, Germany.

In the press conference, Shannon looked in great shape, seemed confident, and got on to Vitali about a comment that supposedly was tasteless in his opinion regarding asthmatics like himself. Vitali seemed amused by Shannon's antics and at one point asked Shannon if he was scared since he was leaving the press conference when it was his turn to speak.

Vitali Klitschko Quotes

“I see that Briggs is in a very good shape. He is a dangerous puncher and a very strong challenger who is a former heavyweight champion. I am ready and prepared for him and I will do everything to make sure to keep my WBC title."

"It is not easy to find an adversary for me or my brother. Shannon accepted immediately to fight me and I thank him for that, but when I hear him say he is going to propel me into retirement, that just makes me laugh. "

Shannon Briggs Quotes

“I had the best training camp of my career. I will fight different than all the other opponents Klitschko had before me. I am not afraid to fight him and I will take his WBC belt to the US.”

"I really feel for you, but you have made a bad choice. You are going to meet an adversary that you have never met before. I can hit, box and dodge my opponent's punches."

"I have never prepared so well for a bout. When I have finished with Vitali, they can bring on Wladimir immediately."

Klitschko Peter Final Press Conference

Monday was the final press conference for IBF, WBO, IBO, and Ring heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (57-3, 48 KOs) and former WBC champion Sam Peter (34-3, 27 KOs) ahead of their championship fight and rematch from their 2005 fight this Saturday, September 11th at the Commerzbank-Arena in Frankfurt, Germany.
Peter celebrated his 30th birthday on the day of the press conference and was presented with a cake made out in the design of of boxing ring, and a belt by Klitschko. I'm not sure what the belt part was about but I think it might have been a jab at Peter regarding to not getting his belts, and/or possibly in reference to the situation in his brothers press conference with Peter in which Peter tore away the belt from Vitali's hands.

Klitschko Quotes

“Peter is very fast, powerful and a great puncher. I love to be challenged and I am very much motivated for this fight. Each round I will try to knock Peter out”

"Anything can happen in the ring. A knockout can happen every second. Wladimir tried to provoke Peter by saying, "This is your special day. That's why I'll let you touch the belt and let you hold them, but only today and that's about it. Wladimir held the IBF and WBO belts right before Peter's face. Peter said nothing.

Peter Quotes

“I am happy to be in Germany in again. It will be an excellent, classy fight.”

"I'll give the answers in the ring. I'm going to let my fist speak in the ring and I'll take the belts. This fight is going to be classic."

"I can't wait, and I don't want to say alot because you will see it all in the ring. Watch out and don't miss it. Thank you everyone and especially God. In 2005 I was doing well but people thought my career was over - I knew that this was not the end, it is not going to be over! I have trust in God and I am back, I'm really happy about it. September is my month and it's my moment especially for my career".

Ivaylo Gotsev Quotes

** Peter's manager

"We are going to put the cake into the refrigerator until Saturday, because this is when Samuel will be picking up his real presents - the world champion belts!"

Abel Sanchez Quotes

** Peter's trainer

At one point in the press conference he gets up and says ,"Wladimir is going to get knocked out in round 6."

Emanuel Steward Quotes

** Wladimir's trainer

"Peter has one of the best knockouts. Samuel is an accurate puncher, but Wladimir has been become a complete fighter and is able to control everything. He makes you fight how he wants. He is the best Heavyweight Champion of the World, and he will dominate this fight." Stewards predicts is a 4th or 5th round KO for Klitschko.

Klitschko Sosnowski Press Conference

Yesterday was the press conference at the VELTINS Arena in Gelsenkirchen for the upcoming WBC heavyweight championship fight between current champ Vitali Klitschko (39-2, 37 KOs) and the EBU champion Albert Sosnowski (45-2-1, 27 KOs) which will take place May, 29 at the VELTINS-Arena is the home field of famous German soccer team Schalke 04. Both fighters seem very confident heading into their fight. Here is some of what was said during the press conference.

Sosnowski Quotes

"I am very dedicated and still very young in the heavyweight division, and just starting at bigger things. I am very happy and excited about my upcoming match with Klitschko. I love the opportunity and I'm going to use that chance and win the world title.

"I do not think it is a huge step up in class [for me]. He [Vitali] is very schematic and pretty predictable. For the past few years he has picked out his opponents from guys who do not punch, who are not aggressive, who do not have that will - I will be much more stubborn, faster and dedicated."

“Vitali Klitschko’s last opponents were like living punching bags. They had already lost when they were still siting in their locker rooms. The arena is huge and impressive. I don’t care that I am not seen as the favorite for the fight. I will be the first Polish heavyweight champion of the world!”

"I will win this fight and bring the title back to Poland!"

Klitschko Quotes

“I saw Sosnowski’s fights on DVD and must admit that he is a very experienced, quick and tough opponent. He will do anything to get my belt but I promise that this is not going to happen. I want to verify that I am still the strongest heavyweight in the world. I am full of energy, in a top shape and without injuries. I am looking forward to fighting in Germany again and at Schalke arena. I was in Wladimir’s corner when he beat Ruslan Chagev at the arena last June. I have to say that I was jealous on him and desperately wanted to fight here as well. Now, this dream comes true. This is an incredible arena with great fans. The atmosphere will be electrifying.”

Today there was a pre-fight press conference for the WBO, IBF, IBO, and Ring heavyweight championship fight this Saturday, March 20th between current champ Wladimir Klitschko and the #1 WBO heavyweight mandatory challenger Eddie Chambers.

Wladimir Klitschko Quotes

“I’ve already tested him and I think the world title will remain in the Klitschko family.”

"I've never trained for a fight this hard."

"After nine months off, I am eager to get back in the ring."

"I am very excited to fight in another soccer stadium, this one will hold more than 50,000 people. The atmosphere in the stadium will be fantastic."

"I am 33 years old and at the top of my athletic ability, I have never been so strong, fast, and experienced."

"Eddie is a very talented fighter and has a very difficult style, but I am well prepared to defend my titles. All four of my belts will stay in the Klitschko family."

Klitschko Johnson Fight Week Press Conference

Today, there was a press conference in Berne, Switzerland ahead of this Saturday's WBC heavyweight championship fight between current WBC heavyweight champ "Dr. Ironfist" Vitali Klitschko (38-2, 37 KOs) and undefeated American heavyweight hopeful Kevin "Kingpin" Johnson (22-0-1, 9 KOs).

In the press conference Kevin Johnson seemed very confident and told Vitali that the only people that could have prepared him for what he is about to face would have been Muhammed Ali and Larry Holmes.

Here's a link to part of the Klitschko vs Johnson press conference here.

Kevin Johnson Quotes

"Thank you i like to thank god 1st for put everything together; putting this fight into proper (inspection?). For me, I thought my toughest fight would actually not be this fight. I remember when I was down in Florida. I was coming from the Dominican Republic and I stopped and I seen Lennox Lewis in the airport, and I walked up to Lennox Lewis and I told Lennox I said do you know who I am? He said you look familiar. So, I went on to tell who I am. He said I heard about you. I told him: I say you're my biggest test. My dream is to fight you . You're the best heavyweight in the world and most dominant heavyweight in the world.

About a couple months ago me and Lennox enjoyed a ride and I asked him a couple questions about the fight with Viatli. How difficult was he? And in his mind he came up with the same answer I came up with: It's not difficult breaking down a robot. It's difficult building up one. My whole life I broken down a lot of things but I never rebuilt it. I can tear down anything. The easiest thing a man can do is tear down anything. The hardest thing another man can do is build up something else.

This is no problem for me. This is not a test nor a task. I've done this all my life. Me being the best boxer from the United States, that's just not being the best boxer. I've been blessed with 3 things that no man can ever beat. I'm standing here undefeated because those 3 things are so dominant. Nobody can ever stop me, nobody can ever touch me if i don't want to get touched, nobody can ever hit me if don't want to get hit. Nobody can ever outbox me. Why? Because I'm too superb. 20 years experience. Very superb. It's a difference. I got something that he don't got. Because when I walk away a winner December, 12th you'll know the things that i have. The whole world will be shocked, because nobody is expecting this. Nobody is expecting a 22 and 0 kid to destroy this guy the way I am going to destroy him. If the bout makes 10 rounds, if it makes 10 rounds; that's a big if, I don't think this bout will make even 9 rounds. I don't like to make predictions. I will say 9 rounds.

He's not ready. How do I know he's not ready. Cuz there's only 2 people in this whole world that can get him ready to fight me and no neither one of them was there to help. that was
Mohammed Ali and Larry Holmes, and if you didn't train(pointing at Vitali) with Mohammed Ali and Larry Holmes you hurt yourself. You're in good shape probably, but you're not ready for me. 1 thing. If you get that ring you better ride(?) it."

Vitali Klitschko Quotes

“You should give me ten percent of your purse, so that I can pay the doctor’s bills for you after the fight.”

Fritz Sdunek Quotes

“Vitali has gone more than 100 sparring rounds in preparation. He’s physically and mentally in top form. If Kevin Johnson does what he promises, at least the fight will go the full twelve rounds.”

Ok, am I the only one who thinks what Johnson said was a little strange Building up a robot? What exactly does that mean. Is he suggesting that he has to get himself motivated in this fight to pretend Vitali is good so he doesn't slack? That's the only thing I can think of. If that's true, who exactly would he get himself motivated to fight in the heavyweight division if he has to "build up" Vitali. Strange. Sounds like he's trying to make himself believe he is good enough to face Vitali.

Also, Mohammed Ali helping Vitali train for this fight? Is he serious? Funny stuff there. Your thoughts?

Klitschko Arreola Final Press Conference

On Tuesday was the final press conference was held at the Nokia Plaza in LA for the WBC heavyweight championship between current WBC champion "Dr. Ironfist" Vitali Klitschko (37-2, 36 KOs) and the WBC #1 mandatory Cristobal "The Nightmare" Arreola (27-0, 24 KOs) which will take place on Saturday, September 26th at the Staples Center in Los Angles, CA.

There was a lot of press there(reportedly more than usual), and Vitali's brother Wladimir was there as well. There were also the undercard fighters who had a few words which you can view at towards the bottom of this post.

After the press conference Ring Magazine awarded Wladimir Klitschko with their belt adding to his 3 belts making it 4 total with the WBO, IBF, and IBO. He was awarded this Ring belt because he defeated the Ring's #3 ranked Ruslan Chagaev in his last fight.

Arreola Interview At Final Press Conference

Tom Loeffler Interview At Klitschko Arreola At Final Press Conference

Here are quotes from the final press conference..

Vitali Klitschko Quotes

“The question is, who will be the winner? I don’t know. It’s a heavyweight fight; it’s boxing, where any one punch can decide the outcome."

“After five weeks of training, 100 miles of running, and over 100 rounds of sparring, I can now answer that question. I am in great shape, ready for a great performance and ready to show my skills in the ring."

“Five weeks ago, if you asked me that question (who would win?), I wouldn’t have been able to answer it. Now, after my training camp, I can tell you that I will win."

“Arreola is a tough guy, a big puncher, but he doesn’t have the experience in the ring."

“Saturday will be a real good fight. If you have good opponents, you look good."

“This will be a real heavyweight fight. I am more than sure that I will exit the ring as heavyweight champion of the world."

“I know it’s very important to focus on the fight and be 100 percent ready."

“Some people ask if I’m overlooking Arreola and thinking about the future. Chris, I think about you, I prepare for the fight and I will give it my best."

“I take it step by step. I don’t think about the future because there is no future without a victory Saturday night."

“I have never fought anyone with such a good record as Arreola. I know he’s a good fighter and I prepared for the hardest fight of my career."

“Can Arreola beat me? I don’t think so. Can he hit me hard? Maybe."

“It’s very interesting for me because this time I have no injuries and am 100 percent."

“Ten years ago I won my first world title belt. Right now, I have 10 years experience as a world champ. Right now, that will make all the difference."

“He may punch hard, but I’ll duck. He won’t knock me out."

“I am ready and I can’t wait until Saturday night."

Vitali Klitschko also responded to the rumor of him fighting in December: “I don’t know of any fight in December, I too just read about that on the Internet.”

Arreola Quotes

CRISTOBAL ARREOLA

“Vitali Klitschko has never fought anyone like me; someone that’s willing to take a punch to give a punch, or someone that has a lot of heart and fights with emotions.

“There’s always strategy going into a fight. But the thing about it is you always take it as you go in the ring and always you think about training; you have to get inside the jab. You can’t let him stretch his hands out and you go balls to the wall. You take the fight to him and make it a fight he’s not used to.

“This is a fight that definitely won’t go the distance. It’s going to be a fight that everyone’s going to want to see. It is not going be one of those boring jab fests.”

“Not only (becoming the first world heavyweight champion of Mexican descent) would it be history, but it’s a legacy I can leave behind. It means everything to me!”

“It is very hot today and I didn’t want to leave my house but I am here for all my fans. I’m taking this fight personal now, what bugs me is that Klitschko is taking me lightly.”

“I just found out that Klitschko has a set date to fight in December, he hasn’t beaten me and he’s already planning to fight someone else. I find it to be disrespectful. I am no walk in the park, Yeah, he will fight in December but isn’t going to be for a world title, that I guarantee.”

“I have a chance to win, this is not a fight for money. I am here to make history. To me that’s worth a lot more. It really pissed me off about him fighting in December, but it’s a good thing because it motivated me to really kick his ass.”

Henry Ramirez Quotes

*Arreola’s trainer

“He’s ready to go. It’s the week of the fight; we have fight week festivities and we have a few days before we go to work, and we’re ready to go.

“Vitali’s a big guy and it’s kinda hard to get guys to emulate that style. But the thing about Chris that is hard to emulate is the pressure that Chris brings is unlike any other. You cannot emulate it. It is pressure that is unbelievable and he (Klitschko) has never been in with it.

“I agree this fight won’t go the distance, but unlike everybody else I feel the longer it goes the better it is for Chris.”

Dan Goossen Quotes

*President, Goossen Tutor Promotions)

“We’ve had our big fights. The key to this one is realizing there is nothing wrong with getting lost in the moment of fighting for the heavyweight championship and making history. But when everything is said and done you have to go out there and walk through the tunnel at Buckeye Stadium as a freshman QB and go out and do what you do as an athlete, and Arreola will be up to the task.

“When Vitali talks about experience, forget it. The point of it is, experience is great if you’re not ready to play the big game. The great ones overcome all that and just go out and play the game.

“There’s no stopping Chris Arreola, not because he’s my fighter but because he is a true fighter that’s got the will and determination, the guts, the goals, the ability and the willingness. I’ll show you a world champion with what I just described.

“And there isn’t going to be anything that stops him Saturday night. That is my belief. Arreola will knock him out.”

Bernd Boente Quotes

*Managing director of KMG(Klitschko Management Group)

“I think it’s a fantastic fight and STAPLES (Center) is the right place to do it. It’s a very, very tough, young gun over here with Chris Arreola. He’s unbeaten, and he wants to prove that he can also be the best in the division."

“On the other hand, we have a very, very experienced three-time heavyweight champion with the best knockout percentage in the heavyweight division ever. I think it’s a great, great matchup and this is exactly what the heavyweight division needs."

“I’m looking forward to a great fight. The media interest is gigantic. We have, I think, 380 media requests from journalists who want to come to this fight. We have 113 countries who are broadcasting it, including the biggest Chinese TV station and the biggest Russian TV station. So, it’s gigantic."

“I’m sure it’ll be a great fight and a great win by Vitali Klitschko.”

Fritz Sdunek Quotes

*Vitali Klitschko’s Trainer

“We’re happy to be back in L.A. We had a great training camp and we went swimming at UCLA. We’re really looking forward to Saturday night. Vitali is in great shape and didn’t have any injuries while training. We’ll probably see a knockout on Saturday night."

Tom Loeffler Quotes

*Directing manager of K2 Promotions

“We’re really excited about Saturday’s fight card. It’s really a worldwide event. It will be broadcast in over 100 countries internationally.”

“I think Dan (Goossen) will agree, and I think the fighters have already said in a number of interviews: This fight’s not going 12 rounds. It’s not going to be a boxing show. It’s going to be a knockout spectacle. Vitali, with his knockout ratio, and Chris isn’t going to run from Vitali.

“There will be fireworks aplenty this Saturday at STAPLES Center.”

Ivan Goldman Quotes

RING Magazine Representative, who presented the belt to Wladimir Klitschko

“When you have a good fight, a good fighter will win and a good fighter will lose. Vitali Klitschko had the Ring Magazine belt before he retired and now this is just the second set of brothers to hold the Ring belt."

“Wladimir makes it look easy, and he made it look easy against (Ruslan) Chagaev. But, we know it’s not easy. He’s a gentleman and a proud fighter, and it’s my pleasure to award this belt to Wladimir. It’s a difficult belt to win and it’s my pleasure to give it to a great champ.”
