At the weigh in yesterday challenger Dereck Chisora gave WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko a cheap shot and slap as they were in the middle of their stare down. It appears that Chisora either immediately backed away or was pulled back by his team. Immediately after this happened Vitali said, 'Why has he done this? Look how nervous he is. He hit me and ran away so his own team could stop me getting at him.'
Chisora immediately fled the scene, screaming: 'Where's my f****** driver! Where's my f****** car! Get me out of here.'
Vitali was also quoted by thesun.co.uk as saying:
“He [Chisora] is a coward. Why did he do this? Did you see how nervous he was? He hit and ran away. Then his team covered him up to stop me getting at him. You are f***** now, Dereck, you are really f***** now!”
Adam Booth, trainer/manager of David Haye said, 'Chisora has committed suicide. He wasn't going to win anyway but this has made it worse. It was a cheap shot and the last thing you want to do is pick a fight with Vitali. The only hope is to try to box him. Now he'll come into the ring with real anger.'
Even his own promoter and trainer were flabbergasted by his antics. Frank Warren his promoter said, "We're all scratching our heads about it, to be honest. You always expect something from Dereck - he's a character - but it's usually something that winds people up or is a bit jovial.
"So for him to get physical and aggressive, unprovoked, is surprising. But I'm sure there's method to his madness and we'll find out if the madness has paid off tomorrow night." --- and his trainer Don Charles said, "I'm not Dereck Chisora. Like I said, it's unacceptable."
WBC president Jose Sulaiman said: 'Boxing, even though it is violent, is a sport of gentlemen and fair play. The WBC has decided to fine Chisora for not complying with the fair play that is required in all sports.'
This will cost Chisora £32,000 ($50,000) fine and brought condemnation for all sides, including his own handlers. (Interesting to not that Chisora also turned an incredible tasty £70,000 offer for advertisement on the bottom of his shoes so all together he is losing over £100,000!)
On top of this Chisora may also face action from the British Boxing Board.
The greatest disciplinary action Chisora will face however will be when he fights Vitali Klitschko later today.

Vitali Klitschko Talks Politics
WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko recently talked about his time in Ukraine's political ring as a member of the Ukrainian Democratic Alliance for Reform party which is also known as "Punch." He launched into politics back in 2006 and last April started a Reform party which campaigned on a platform of anti-corruption. Here is what Vitali had to say:
On similarities between boxing and politics
"In every way, in life, in politics, you have to show your skills. You have to defend yourself. You have to defend your mind -- not physically -- you have to use your strong mentality, you use your brain skills to defend your position."
On using your mind in politics and not your fists
**Referring to alot of heated discussions that have resulted in fist fights in Ukrainian politics..
"I am actually 20 years in sport, in boxing, and never ever in 20 years I use my skills outside of the ring.
It's painful to see that if a politician doesn't have brain power to defend his position, he tries to use his muscles -- this politician doesn't have a future."
On the Klitschko Brothers Foundation
** Formed in 2003 aiming to promote healthy lifestyles for children through sport.
"We try to give the young generation the opportunity to develop himself through sport. We try to use the power what has sport to change the world and bring attention to the people the problems that have our society."
On himself and his brother Wladimir
"My brother is not just brother -- he's my best friend. We understand each other very well, we help each other and maybe that's why we're lucky and successful in sport.
"We make a condition in sport also: we never fight each other but we play each other at table tennis, chess. The life without a brother would be so boring and that's why I'm thankful to my parents I have my brother Wladimir. "

Klitschko Briggs Press Conference
Today was the press conference in Kiev, Ukraine for the WBC heavyweight championship between Vitali Klitschko (40-2, 38 KOs) and former WBO heavyweight champion Shannon Briggs (51-5-1, 45 KOs) ahead of their fight on October 16th at the 02 World in Hamburg, Germany. Ticket information, pictures, and video coming soon!
Vitali Klitschko Quotes
I am very glad that the first press conference is here in Ukraine. Thank you to everyone, to TV channel Inter. I know that many fans want to see the fight between Vitali Klitschko and Nikolay Valuev. I have done the utmost to make this fight take place. I have offered big money, but Valuev called it ‘insignificant.’ I’ve offered the fight for the title WBC, but for him it probably means nothing. Believe me, I am not guilty that he doesn’t want to fight me. Always it is possible to find the reasons why this fight hasn’t taken place. I offered the fight to David Haye, but he is silent, he is afraid to fight me. We thought, who the strongest opponent who can resist me? Peter will fight Wladimir on October 16th, and we have chosen Shannon Briggs. He’s one of the most serious contenders for the world championship. His record of fights demands respect. I know that for me it’s a serious fight. I know that only Vitali Klitschko can beat Vitali Klitschko. I’m very proud to own today the belt which Mike Tyson, Lewis and Ali owned, and I will make sure this belt remaines with me. I will give everything in this fight to come out again the winner.
Shannon Briggs Quotes
I want to begin that I am very happy to be here, in Kiev. Unfortunately, at the airport of Kiev I have found out that they lost my luggage, therefore I to wear what I wore yesterday. I don’t have other clothes. Yesterday went to shop, good shopping, beautiful women. Ukraine is the beautiful country. Many beautiful women. I wanted the Klitschko-Briggs to take place in Ukraine, but we are forced to fight in Germany. I hope that the rematch will be here in Kiev. Once again I want to say thanks to all of you. My dream has come true. Three years ago I planned to leave boxing, seriously considered this after the defeat against Sultan Ibragimov. I weighed 334 pounds. Once in Los Angeles I met Vitali at a restaurant. He has touched me in the stomach and I resolved that I would return. It was not necessary for Klitschko to touch me. I am the former two-time world champion. I beat George Foreman. I have the most first round knockouts in the history of the heavyweight division. I am the first world champion in boxing history with asthma. I’m grateful to Vitali for the opportunity to again sit on the throne.
Bernd Boente Quotes
** Klitschko’s manager
We are very glad to be here at this big press conference. This very big show for us. You know that Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko’s last three fights have taken place at big stadiums to Germany. And we will try to bring a big fight for the Klitschko brothers before the Euro 2012 football championship in Ukraine. We know that in Ukraine the economic situation is not the best, but it gets better every year. And we hope to have a big fight at a football stadium in Kiev or in Donetsk. Vitali is a living legend, one of the few who became a triple world champion. It is assured that he’ll be in the World Boxing Hall of Fame. And he has the biggest percentage of knockouts in the history of heavyweights. But as I told both Vitali and Wladimir, it’s impossible to underestimate Briggs because he’s very dangerous and very strong. He beat George Foreman, Ray Mercer, Siarhei Liakhovich. I warned Vitali that he needs to be very careful in the ring. This fight won’t last twelve rounds. All media are interested in this fight. This fight will be seen live in the USA, Germany, Ukraine, we already know that 93 million spectators will see this fight because it will be broadcast in 110 countries worldwide.
Greg Cohen Quotes
**Briggs' manager
First I want to thank the Klitschko Team for making this fight. We very much respect Vitali and we know that he could have chosen any boxer. He chose Brigss and that is a great honor to us. We’ve been with Shannon from first day of his career. We’ve neem with him through victories and defeats and are glad to fight for a new heavyweight title. I should say that I’ve never seen Briggs so motivated in his entire career. It’s his last chance and we will try to use this opportunity. On October 16th Briggs will be prepared as much as possible to become the world champion. In a ring there are two big men with the big power to sort out who will be the champion. This fight just what the fans have waited for. My company is very happy about this fight and I think that on October 16th, he will show everyone what Shannon Briggs is capable of.

The o2 World is a great arena and the fans in Hamburg are real box experts and will make a perfect atmosphere. Shannon Briggs is not only big at talking but also big in the ring and a very tough challenger. He is more experienced than me, has more professional fights on his record and is one of the hardest punchers in the division. I will be very well prepared together with my trainer Fritz Sdunek.”Shannon Briggs Quotes

Vitali Klitschko Interview At WBC Night of Champions
Vitali Klitschko recently attended the WBC Night of Champions which is a event where champions from around the world attend and they have many activities including amateur boxing and much more that ended yesterday. Klitschko was one of the main guests for the event was interviewed right before a luncheon and this is how it went. Here's how it went:
Vitali, welcome to Cardiff, Wales. How are you finding your time here?
This is actually my second time in Cardiff. It’s a very historical city, very nice people. This is a very great event, the WBC Night of Champions. I’m very happy to be here and take part in this event.
Last night after the amateur boxing event, you spent some time with troubled youths through the World Boxing Cares organization. Jill Diamond said the kids were so excited to meet you. How did that make you feel?
It’s great to spend time with the young kids. They have a dream. What the WBC did, putting all the champions together in Cardiff is a big motivation for young sportsmen to reach big goals. To have a dream to be world champion, not just in amateur sports, but the same as Muhammad Ali in professional sports.
Tonight there will be an awards banquet at which you’ll be receiving an award. What can you tell us about that?
I know it will be “Champion of the Year,” it’ll be the second time. I’m very proud of that and the attention that I receive from the WBC.
There is a contract for you to fight Shannon Briggs in October. You reclaimed the title back in October of 2008. If everything goes to plan with this fight, that will be your sixth fight in exactly two years, a pretty active pace for a heavyweight champion these days. Are you happy with that average of fighting every four months?
You know what? We don’t have a contract with Shannon Briggs. We have negotiations. We’re in a negotiation period. Shannon Briggs… it’s possible that I fight him, but it’s not 100%. But anyway, I’m ready to fight any fighter in the world. I’m open for a proposal from anyone. We gave a proposal to Adamek- Adamek doesn’t want to fight. We gave a proposal to David Haye- David Haye kept his mouth closed. He doesn’t speak any more about that. Valuev wants to fight, but he wants money. World sports title is not interesting for him. I’m open to defend my title against anyone and show everyone that I’m the strongest in the world. I’m very proud to have the same title that Muhammad Ali had many years ago. I will try to keep this title as long as possible. About the breaks…I had a long line of injuries, but the break for three years made me better, and now I have a lot of power and show good results. That’s why I’ve been so active these last two years. I feel great. I feel like I’m twenty years old! Sometimes I forget I’m almost forty years old! (laughs)
Since you’ve come back, you haven’t seemed to have a tough time with any of your opponents. I know you don’t want to discredit any of your opponents, but you’ve been able to do as you wanted with them. Are you looking forward to having a tougher challenge from your next opponent?
Nothing is easy in life. Every opponent was a very tough guy. They try to hit me, try to beat me, but right now, I don’t see anybody who can beat me. There is just one person- Me! I can beat me by myself!
Do you feel the difference has been your skill level and training has been so much better than your opponents?
I have my boxing skills. That is the main point. Not just in boxing, but in life- I have a lot of experience. I have a lot of experience in boxing and I use my experience in the fight.
Recently Ross Greenburg of HBO has said that HBO is out of the heavyweight business- either due in part to the fact that you and your brother are mostly fighting in Europe, or the fights are against opponents American fans haven’t heard of, or the fans can’t tell you and Wladimir apart. What are yo thought in Greenburg’s comments?
(Big smirk) If I read these comments from Ross Greenburg, I smile because it’s not easy to give the answer. (Asking incredulously) Nobody knows who Vitali is, or who Wladimir is? Boxing fans can’t tell the difference between the brothers and that’s why HBO doesn’t broadcast the fights? (Shaking his head). All around the world people know who Wladimir is, and who Vitali is. We fill stadiums with 50-60,000 people. We have great (viewership) on German television. After that, the next excuse is- Klitschkos are fighting not so good opponents. We’re ready to fight anyone. Just challenge us. If HBO…actually, I am very disappointed. We live for the media. The media connects us to our fans and our fans want to see the fights. First of all, Ross Greenburg said Wladimir’s fight against Povetkin would be broadcast on HBO. After that he changed his mind. HBO is very important to us and we want to stay attached to the boxing audience in the United States. You know what? If the United States doesn’t play in soccer world championship, it means it will not be broadcast in the United States. If the United States doesn’t take part in the Olympics, it doesn’t get broadcast in the United States. This is the heavyweight division. These are very interesting fights. I’m very proud to have the highest rating in the history of knockouts (as heavyweight champion). Every fight, I stop my opponent. The boxing audience wants to see that and assume HBO will broadcast it. If HBO doesn’t want to do that, we will work with another network in America.
Regardless, are you happy with the way the careers of you and Wladimir are going?
We’ll still go forward. We have a dream: to be the only brothers to hold all the heavyweight championships. Right now, we have three of the four belts. We have a dream to take the last one that David Haye has. But to be honest, David Haye is smart enough to understand that he has a title. He’ll have it a long time if he doesn’t meet a Klitschko brother in side the ring. It’s a big risk for him. That’s why he challenges us, but he runs away from me or from Wladimir.
In order to achieve that dream, do yo think the Klitschkos will do what every it takes, financial or otherwise, to get Haye in the ring to have the chance to get that elusive fourth belt?
We gave a very fair proposal: 50-50. We split the money 50-50. We’re two world champions. Everyone wants to see a unification fight. One champion against another champion. Who is the strongest in the world? Is David Haye? Be honest! I feel that all boxing fans know- David Haye is afraid. Just afraid…not to fight, but to lose his title!
As far as Valuev goes- you’ve both traded videos back and forth- you claiming he’s afraid, his claiming he’s not afraid. Do you really believe that, or do you feel it’s more a financial issue, especially with Don King involved?
Don King doesn’t want it. Or Valuev doesn’t want it. I gave Valuev a chance to fight for $1,500,000 U.S. dollars and for the most prestigious title in the world. That’s the biggest money that he’ll make in his career. He doesn’t want it. He wants more money and explains about T.V. rights, and this and that. I, as world champion, have to come to him and asked him, “Please fight against me.” It’s funny. Never in the history of the world has a champion had to come to challenger to ask him to fight for the title.
Well Vitali, thanks for talking to Fightnews.com (link to article here) and good luck against whoever your next opponent is in October.
I will give my very best to show a good performance. I am sure the American audience will see the fight. This will be a very emotional and dramatic fight. I will give my best to knock my opponent out and send him to the floor. That’s what boxing fans want to see!
Afterwords, there was a luncheon and Briggs and Vitali talked and said the following:
Briggs told Klitschko, “Whether or not we fight, I want to play you in chess.” Vitali responded with raised eyebrows, “Oh, how long have you been playing chess?” Briggs proudly replied, “Twenty seven years. I’m thirty-eight-years-old, so since I was eleven!” To that the two shook hands and gave fans another potential heavyweight battle: the heavyweight championship of chess!

Vitali Klitschko Calls Out Valuev
Vitali Klitschko has made one last attempt in the last couple weeks to get a bout with the former WBA heavyweight champ Nicolai Valuev. Since talks have not gone as planned Vitali has made a video to discuss this situation. In broken translated English this is essentially what he is saying in the video statement he made:
"In the ring you can see who is who immediately. Therefore, Valuev is probably afraid of a fight with me.Our fight awaiting millions. They are tired of watching when a adult man behaves as a child.Nikolay stop being afraid. Being a slave of fear is the worst slavery. Remember this, or find another kind of sport. I have done everything to make this bout happen, but Valuev's team responds with new terms. I doesn't see a way to continue the negotiations. It's nonsense-a champion to coax a contender." -- Again this is not a exact translation but as close as I can get until a Klitschko fan gives me a better translation of what Vitali said.
Here is the actual video of the video statement made by Vitali.

Vitali Klitschko Interview After Sosnowski Fight
This is a interview of the WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko after his fight with Albert Sosnowski.. This is a translation so it's not perfect.
During the fight I had the impression that you became a bit tired and decided it was "time to finish"
Vitali: Tired? I don't think so. I'm in such good shape I could box even 25 rounds. I wasn't tired. The one who became tired was rather Sosnowski so I decided: "It's time to finish him."
Was it your plan for the fight not to be in a hurry and..
Vitali: Why should I hurry? I had 12 rounds, I was sure that I can finish the fight until the 11th round.
I had an impression it was quite hard for you to enter this fight in the first round.
Vitali: Yes, but it wasn't an easy rival. I want to repeat once more: Sosnowski is a good fighter. NObody becomes the European champion by mistake after all. He's young and win-starved. He did everything to win but it turned out to be insufficient to beat me.
We saw that Sosnowski hit you powerfully in the third, fifth, and eighth rounds. Did you have even one hard moment in the bout?
Vitali: I didn't have any hard moments but the rival was constantly attacking. He has a dangerous punch. He is quite a powerful sportsman. Every one of his blows is menacing and can finish a bout however, I wasn't hit by such a blow.
Today we inquired after your new contract with RTL. What could you say about it?
Vitali: This is a extension of our previous contract.
If you were able to choose your next opponent who would it be: Valuev, Haye?
Vitali: It makes no difference. However, I'd prefer Haye because he has a belt which me and my brother lack.
How probable is the contest against Haye?
Vitali: I'm ready. Haye makes alot of announcements but apart from it, he should know how to enter the ring. He can't decide to enter the ring until now.
What do you think about the future of Sosnowski in the heavyweight division?
Vitali: He showed his character. I'm convinced that he won a lot in this fight despite the defeat. He won fondness of the audience and those people who supported him previously. Everyone can see: he's a serious fighter with an interesting future ahead of him. He can also get more experience. I'm convinced that he'll receive a chance to fight for a world title again.
Recently Don King said that the contest Vitali Klitschko , Nicolai Valuev simply must happen. Do you still believe in it?
Vitali: It's very hard to sit at one table with Don King and negotiate. People are interested in this fight. I would like this battle to happen in the foreseeable future.
Don King signed a contract with Andriy Kotelnik: How could you comment on that?
Vitali: Don King is a shark. I can express only my sympathy for Andriy Kotelnik. He signed a contract.. Do you know the saying about Don King? His hair stand so as to cover his horns. That's why he has this kind of hairstyle. Kotelnik will find out who's the person he signed the contract with.
Does Don King lead Andriy to a slaughter making him fight against Devon Alexander?
Vitali: Let's not look ahead. I can tell you one thing: I don't even know one sportsman who remained happy after the end of a contract with Don King.
Here's the video of the Vitali Klitschko interview...

Vitali: Klitschko's Will End Haye's Career
Ahead of this Saturday's WBC heavyweight championship fight between Vitali Klitschko (39-2, 37 KOs) and Albert Sosnowski (45-2-1, 27 KOs), Vitali has warned Dave Haye that either he or his brother will ruin Haye's career.
“I want to fight David Haye very much. Wladimir wants to fight against him also. I want to fight David Haye because he has the WBA world title. Wladimir wants to fight him because it’s personal. Wladimir says he’s not interested in his title. David Haye touched him so deeply that Wladimir wants to shut his mouth in the ring.
“David Haye understands the fact that the Klitschko brothers will be the end of his career. The fight against me will be much shorter than against Wladimir because Wladimir will beat him badly all twelve rounds and then knock him out. I will give him a much easier proposal. I’ll knock him out in three, maximum four rounds!”

On Albert Sosnowski
“I expect Albert Sosnowski to be in the best shape of his life. I am sure that he will not run and hide like my last opponent Kevin Johnson. He said that he will give his all to get my belt, but I am well prepared and will not underestimate him. Albert Sosnwoski is not a big name and not so famous in boxing so far. But that does not count at all. He will be very powerful and will always go forward. He will do anything to get my title.”
On preparation
“I have trained very hard and I am in a very good condition. I am prepared to go 12 rounds if I have to.”
On the fight at the soccer stadium in Gelsenkirchen, Germany
“I am looking forward to fighting in a big arena as my brother Wladimir did in Schalke and recently in DĂĽsseldorf. The Schalke stadium is great and I am really looking forward to going there in a couple of days. I know from Wladimir’s fight and from soccer matches I have attended in the arena that the fans and the atmosphere are terrific.”
On future fights
“Fights against David Haye and Nikolay Valuev are interesting fights, but I am not sure if they dare to step in the ring with me or my brother. Anyway, I am not thinking of any other opponents than Albert Sosnowski right now. ”
On being a professional athelete and a politician
“Right now I am able to handle both sides well, like Manny Pacquiao in the Philippines. I want to implement western standards in the Ukraine, my country has so much potential and I want to help to make things better.”
Fritz Sdunek Quotes
** Vitali’s trainer:
“Vitali is in an extraordinary shape. Once again, he improved his boxing skills. We have worked a lot on his footwork and he went through more than 110 rounds of sparring.”

Vitali Klitschko Says He Will KO Haye Within 3
Current WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko has recently stated that if a fight between him and current WBA heavyweight champion David Haye ever occurs(Haye backed out of his fight scheduled for last September in late negotiations with Vitali only to take on the then WBA champion Nicolai Valuev), Vitali Klitschko says he will knock him out with 2 to 3 rounds. Here's what Vitali stated...
"We have the negotiations with him(Haye) going. The only thing Haye has to do is to choose one of us – only to find himself horizontally out cold on the canvas later. If he chooses me – I’ll knock him out in 2-3 rounds. But if he accepts Wladimir’s challenge, my brother, as a man of art, will prolong his pleasure and will be painting Haye’s face in pizza colors for all the 12 rounds”

Tom Loeffler Quotes
*of K2 promotions
"We are excited about this deal with Integrated Sports and giving US boxing fans the opportunity to watch Vitali fight live in the US. When he fought (Chris) Arreola last September in Los Angeles, he had the highest ratings on HBO last year, which proved boxing fans are always interested to see Vitali fight. He will use this fight to continue the Klitschko domination of the heavyweight division."
Vitali Klitschko Quotes
“I watched Sosnowski’s fights and must admit that he is a very experienced, quick and tough opponent. He will do anything to get my belt but I promise that this is not going to happen.”
Albert Sosnowski Quotes
“This is a dream come true, a once-in-a-lifetime chance to fight Klitschko for his WBC _title_ belt. For me, Klitschko is over the hill. I know that I am the underdog for everybody, but I tell you, Klitschko will regret picking me. I know many Polish fans in the United States and Canada will watch the fight and support me. I will be the first Polish Heavyweight Champion of the World.”

Klitschko's Fighting Over Who Will Fight Haye
As you already know both Klitschko brothers on 2 different occasion have tried to get a match sealed with the now WBA heavyweight champion David Haye with no success. Haye backed out of a set match with Wladimir Klitschko in June claiming injury and then double negotiated and backed out of a fight with Vitali in September to fight the WBA champion Nicolai Valuev instead.
What it boils down to is Wladimir has more of a personal vendetta against Haye whereas Vitali would like to have 2 major belts like his brother Wladimir has.
So both brothers want to fight Haye next and this is what Vitali Klitschko had to say about the situation.
"I told my brother, 'I want to fight Haye', but he said no, he wants to fight him."
"For him it is personal, but for me I want the title. My brother already has two but I have to clear it with him. I really hope he listens to his older brother. Let's hope my brother listens to me. He must always respect old people."
"Always you need motivation and the motivation is to have all the titles in the family. Everyone wants to see a unification. Champion against champion. Haye has the choice, one of the brothers Klitschko."
"I'll tell Haye it's easier to beat me, because I'm older and I don't have as much energy as my brother. I keep my fingers crossed that he beats Ruiz. Not because I like him, but I want his title and to shut his mouth."
"Maybe we decide by coins who fights him. Let's hope my brother listens to me. He must always respect old people."
I'm kind of undecided on who gets to fight Haye myself. If Vitali was not going to retire soon I'd for sure want to see Vitali fight him, but since he is I'd hate to see 2 belts go back to the sanctioning body cesspool where Wladimir would have to wait forever to recapture the belts. If Wladimir fought him then there would only be the WBC belt to worry about when Vitali retires. But, then again Vitali needs to cement his legacy as well and another belt would help. What do you think? Comment below on who you would go for. I think Vitali should fight him. Wladimir is young enough to take time to capture the other belts.

Vitali Klitschko Calls Valuev A Chicken
Since the negotiations with former WBA champion Nicolai Valuev went bust, current WBC champion has called Valuev a chicken for not taking the fight for $2.5 million. Klitschko originally offered Valuev $1 million which is plenty in my opinion for an ex champion and would be more than Valuev would get anywhere else to $2 million to $2.5 million dollars. Still team Valuev with Don King was not satisfied and wanted to have $2.5 and a portion of TV broadcasting revenue. This is what Vitali had to say about the situation....
"Valuev is chicken. We gave him the biggest financial proposal of his career, $2.5 million, and he says 'no'. He understands that if he loses this fight, that's it for a long time in his career. Because it's the money for his pension – that's why he wanted $4 million. He's not a big champion."

Klitschko vs Sosnowski In May!
Since the negotiations for the proposed fight between WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko and the former WBA champ Nicolai Valuev fell through, Vitali has now decided to go with fighting European heavyweight champion Albert Sosnowski (45-2-1, 27 KOs) most likely on May 29th at the Schalke Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.
Whereas one of Valuev's promoters Don King turned down a large sum of $2.5 million dollars Sosnowski immediately agreed to fight for a $1 million purse and cancelled his fight with Audley Harrison, which was scheduled for April 9.
This should make a good substitution with a guy who is willing to face and fight Vitali unlike the last pretender Kevin Johnson. I would expect a TKO/KO victory here.
Vitali Klitschko Quotes
“I am very happy to have my next fight in Germany again. The arena in Gelsenkirchen and the fans there are very special. I experienced that last year when my brother Wladimir had his fight there in front of 61,000 spectators. The atmosphere was simply electrifying. I saw Sosnowski’s fights on DVD and must admit that he is a very experienced, quick and tough opponent. He will do anything to get my belt but I promise that this is not going to happen.”
The 31-year-old 6′2½” tall Albert “The Dragon” Sosnowski fought this last December and won the European Heavyweight Championship against former champion Paolo Vidoz from Italy. In 2008 he knocked out former world title challenger and Tyson conqueror Danny Williams , and has an outstanding fight record of 45 wins (27 KOs), two defeats and one draw. Sosnowski was scheduled to defend his European title against Olympic champion Audley Harrison in London on April, 9, but cancelled it for the chance to fight Vitali Klitschko instead.
Sosnowski Quotes
“A dream comes true. Because of the Harrison fight I am already in training and suddenly comes the once-in-a-lifetime chance to fight Klitschko. I want to thank him and his team to give me that opportunity which I will definitely take. For me, Klitschko is already over the hill. I know that I am the underdog for everybody, but I tell you, Klitschko will regret that he picked me. Many Polish and Germans with Polish roots live in the Gelsenkirchen area and I hope that they will support me. I will be the first Polish Heavyweight Champion of the World!”

Klitschko Gives Valuev Final Offer Of $2.5 Million
As a last minute gesture to show how much he's willing to face the Russian giant Nicolai Valuev, current WBC champ Vitali Klitschko has now said he has offered Valuev $2.5 million for the fight. Previously through negotiations Vitali has offered $1 million then $2 million dollars while Valuev's team countered with wanting $4 million dollars which is an outrageous amount.
$2.5 million dollars is more than Valuev has made in any fights in his career including while champion and now that he is not champion he doesn't seem to think that's enough either. This is after Valuev has stated that Vitali had been running from him throughout his career. I guess $2.5 million isn't enough in Valuev's eyes for a beating! This is what Vitali had to say about the negotiations with Nicolai and his team....
"Valuev knows that I’m interested in a fight with him, - told the Ukrainian to Moskovskiy Komsomolets. – But as I have already stated numerous times Valuev doesn’t decide much. The last word always belongs to Don King and Wilfried Sauerland. As a champion I will dictate my own conditions. And I’ve already made an offer for Valuev. He promised to talk it over with his promoters. I give him a chance to fight for the champion’s belt. Besides, he’s been talking for a while that I avoid him. So now he has his chance and it’s up to him to take it or not."
“I have another voluntary defense and I want to fight against an interesting and exciting opponent. I will surely look into the possible fight with Povetkin. But I want to remind that again all the decisions will be taken by Sasha’s promoter Wilfried Sauerland. If we make an agreement with him – I will fight Povetkin. If we don’t agree – well, he’ll have to wait patiently for his turn."

Vitali Klitschko Considering Retirement in 2010!!!
WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko recently has spoken while visiting a Kiev hydro-electric plant that he wishes to have his last fight against David Haye before the end of 2010 and wishes to bow out after he defeats Haye. He says he only needs 1 more belt and that would fulfill his heavyweight boxing goals. No word has been given if he plans to hold out for Haye or to face another voluntary or mandatory defense before him.
WBA heavyweight champion David Haye is scheduled to face his mandatory John Ruiz on April 3rd of this year and Haye is also reported to be wanting a second fight with the former WBA heavyweight champion Nicolai Valuev(possible mandatory from the contract). So, it's unlikely to me that Vitali could get a fight with him before the end of 2010. Maybe Vitali will wait until early 2011 if needed to get that last fight. Stay tuned for more information and check out what Vitali Klitschko had to say...
"I only have to win one belt. So this year I will hang up my boxing gloves. And I'll stop visiting different cities to beat somebody's face in."

Klitschko Offers $2 million For Valuev
Team Klitschko has made a final offer to face Nicolai Valuev for $2 million. Originally, Vitali Klitschko and his team offered Valuev $1 million dollars and then team Valuev came back and demanded an outrageous $4 million.
Here's what Vitali Klitschko told liga.net...
"We continue the negotiations. Valuev has made big mistake by signing the contract with Don King. Valuev wants to get $4 million for this fight, though he has never earned so much even when he was a world champion. I made him the official offer – $2 million and the chance to fight for the world title. If he doesn’t answer by next week, we’ll surely sign an agreement with another opponent."

Valuev Turns Down Vitali Klitschko's Offer
It's been recently reported that former WBA heavyweight champion (who is coming off a loss to David Haye) has turned down $1 million to fight current WBC Vitali Klitschko in a voluntary defense.
It's my opinion that this is a fair amount of money considering Vitali Klitschko is taking all the risk and doesn't have much to gain other than making a fairly intriguing (for the size factor alone) match for the fans, and making some extra money before he retires. I think Valuev shoud take the offer although I imagine there may be just some negotiation strategy involved here and that be more to do with it than Valuev not wanting to fight. I believe that since Valuev isn't champion Don King shouldn't worry about losing leverage since he has nothing to lose and everything to gain if he takes this offer with Valuev. Here's what the fighters had to say...
Vitali Klitschko Quotes
“I’m an acting world champion, while Valuev isn’t even a contender. I have the right to make a voluntary defense and I decided myself on whom to present a chance to fight for the champion’s belt. I decided to give this chance to Nikolay. I called back to Valuev and made him an offer. I offered him the fee for the fight. It’s money that correlates with his size. He took the time to think it over. I called him again several days later. He recommended that I continue the negotiations with Don King."
Valuev Quotes
“He offered me the same amount as he did to his last opponent Kevin Johnson. A million? Yes, Vitali offered me that amount. But for me that sum is unacceptable.”
