Klitschko KO's Mormeck In 4

In total domination tonight Wladimir Klitschko retains his IBF, WBO, IBO, & super WBA heavyweight belts by KOing Jean-Marc Mormeck in 4 rounds.

Mormeck had some success getting IN on Wladimir in the early part of the bout, but that was it. He only threw 3 punches the whole fight! Such was the domination by Wlad.

The fight started off with Wladimir using his jab at a distance as Mormeck crouched low and tried to come in.

In round two Wladimir landed a hard left right combo and Mormeck was down. He barely beat the count leading to round 3 where Wladimir continued hunting Mormeck who was in a defensive shell. It was clear to see it was only a matter of time, and in round 4 Wladimir landed another left right combo which was finalized with a nicely placed left hook that dropped and ended the fight for Mormeck.

Excellent fight from Klitschko and KO # 50 for Wladimir who improves to (57-3, 50 KOs) while Mormeck drops to (36-5, 22 KOs)

Klitschko Wins Unanimous Decision Over Chisora

Vitali Klitschko retained his WBC heavyweight belt this evening by defeating Dereck Chisora by decision at the Olympiahalle, in Munich, Germany..  Chisora put up a game effort using angles and body punching effectively but Vitali was more constant and put on a very workmanlike performance.  The final scores were 118-110, 118-110 and 119-111.

Klitschko TKO's Adamek In 10!

Vitali Klitschko had an easy night defending his WBC crown against former light heavyweight and cruiserweight champion Tomasz Adamek.  The old adage that a good big man beats a good small man came to fruition Saturday night as Vitali easily used his height, weight, and skill combination to never allow Adamek in the fight.

At 40 years old Vitali does not show any signs of slowing down and came in at a low 242 lbs   In round 2 Vitali hit Adamek with a overhand right that made Adamek fall against the ropes and should have counted as a standing 8 but was not.  The fight continued with Vitali doing what he wanted at will while Adamek tried and made a game effort but was just in way over his head (literally).  The same thing happened in the 6th round ( overhand right and Adamek falls against the ropes) but this time it was ruled a knockdown and Adamek received a standing 8 count.  The fight went on the same way with more domination until the ref seen enough and the fight was called to a halt at the 2:20 mark in round 10. With this win Klitschko improved to 43-2 with his 40th knockout and Adamek dropped to 44-2.

Wladimir Klitschko Quotes

"I think the referee made the right decision. He probably could have stopped it a minute earlier."

Vitali Klitschko Quotes

"He's a very good boxer. He was a cruiserweight champion, he was a light heavyweight champion, but he's not good enough to be a heavyweight champion because it's a whole other league."

Adamek Quotes

"He was simply the better fighter and he won. That's sport. You win some and you lose some. This time I lost."

Congratulations to Vitali to his 40th KO victory and 43nd career win!

Klitschko Defeats Haye By Decision

And the new unified WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO heayvweight champion.. Wladimir Klitschko!  Wladimir easily handled David Haye over 12 rounds.  Haye had his moments but didn't throw enough and was not as aggressive as many thought he would be.  Wladimir was the aggressor throughout the fight. Here's how the fight went:

Not much happened in the opening round, feeling each other out, but Klitschko's round. He controlled it, touched him with the jab.

Round 2 was a Solid round for Klitschko.  He was just outlanding a tentative Haye. Landed a couple of nice rights in the rd. 20-18 Klitschko.

Round 3 was best of the fight so far. Some good action. Both landed some solid shots. It was a pretty even round in my opinion and after watching the fight this was Haye's best round.

Rd 4 was more of the same from Wladimnir -- jabbing keeping the distance-- and this round goes to Klitschko although Haye landed a decent shot right at the end of rd.

In round 5 Klitschko had a very good round, and landed a right hand that seemed to hurt Haye for a moment. Klitschko is winning this fight easily up to this point.

In round 6 Klitschko is still controlling the fight and Haye is not throwing enough punches, although Wlad has a small nick that is bleeding on his left cheek.

Round 7 was a even round and I have it 9-9 because Klitschko was docked a point for pushing Haye down, but it was a complete nonsense call. You could tell it was a flop.  Between rounds Emanuel spends the 1st 30 seconds complaining to the ref about this and explaining why he shouldn't have been docked a point.  This seems to have made the ref think the next time Haye pulls similar stunts in the later rounds.

In Rd 8  Klitschko boxing him to death. Haye is still not throwing any punches.

Rd 9 was easy for Klitschko. He's made it look pretty easy  with the jab and increasing left hook. Haye did nothing.

Rd 10 to Kitschko. Haey hardly threw any punches and Wladimir landed more than Haye threw. Also,  Haye keep flopping to mat and was warned.

Rd 11 was fo Klitschko, 10-8. Wladimir was credited with a knockdown, although it was another Haye flop and the ref having enough of Haye's antics creatively counted it as a knockdown.

In the final round Klitschko finishes very aggressive and strong after Haye lands a solid shot. I scored the fight 118 - 108 and the official scrorecard was:  118-108, 117-109, 116-110 for the winner Wladimir Klitschko.
Easy work for Wladimir who is now improves to 56-3, and 49 KO's while Haye drops to 25-2, and 23 KO's...

Congratulations to Wladimir Klitschko and Vitali Klitschko who now control all the belts in the heavyweight division and fulfilled their dream.

Klitschko KO's Solis

The fight started off with Solis showing some pretty good movement and Vitali Klitschko sticking behind his jab and keeping a good distance, but it was soon over. Solis came lunging in with a couple shots that didn't get to Vitali who kept his distance and Vitali ended up catching Solis with a right hook right on Solis' temple. You can immediately see Solis' left leg go dead and he then falls back onto the canvas grasping his leg. He couldn't get up and the referee called the fight off when he did get up.

So that's it Vitali Klitschko wins by KO 1st round over Odlanier Solis.  Vitali improves to 42-2, 39 KO.

Klitsckho Beats Briggs Easily

WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko(41-2, 38 KOs) retained his belt tonight with a dominating 12 round decision over Shannon Briggs (51-6-1, 45 KOs). Throughout the fight he maintained his distance and control and gave Briggs a boxing lesson. Vitali landed some really hard shots but Briggs must have gained more of a chin over the years because he stayed up till the bell. Round 5 was a very dominating performance by Vitali. Round 7 Vitali staggered him, and round 9 he punished Briggs till the bell. I thought the fight should have been stopped but it is what is and Vitali wins tonight with the final scorecards reading: 120-107, 120-107, 120-105. Congratulation to Vitali on another solid win!

Klitschko KO's Peter!

With a dominant performance Wladimir Klitschko went on to win by 10th round KO over former foe Samuel Peter tonight.

Wladimir started off the fight controlling the tempo with his jab.  By mid rounds Klitschko was opening up more and Peter's face was badly swollen.  Throughout the fight Peter resorted to doing some dirty tactics including punching on the break, rabbit punches, and low blows.  Despite this Wladimir kept his cool and kept on with his dominance.

In between rounds 9 and 10 Emanuel Steward told Wladimir that he needs to break away from Peter's clinches (Peter was holding alot throughout the fight and was warned several times) because the fight was looking ugly.  Emanuel said just step back and hit him with punches.

Taking Emanuel's advice in round 10 Wladimir landed a barrage of punches which sent Peter to the canvas causing the referee to immediately halt the bout while Peter was on the ground. Peter was down for awhile and with the fight Wladmir made a strong statement in my opinion.

Wladimir Klitschko: "As expected, Peter was in a very good condition: fast and powerful. It was incredible how many hard hands he was able to take. I am glad that I won this fight."

Klitschko KO's Sosnowski in 10

Vitali Klitschko successfully defended his title tonight with a 10th round knockout over Sosnowski. Sosnowski did show some good skill, and was very fit. But, it wasn't enough.

The fight started off with Vitali keeping the distance and popping his jab mainly. Sosnowski showed great footwork and movement and this kept him from getting hit as often. This continued for the majority of rounds with Sosnowski showing some brief flashes a talent. But, he still got hit enough and Klitschko scored round after round.

In round 9 Klitschko landed some big shots that rocked Sosnowski. That was Klitschko's biggest round up to that point in my opinion.

Then in round 10, Vitali came out even more aggressive and you can tell he was on a mission to stop Sosnowski. He did. Near the end of the round his left hand followed by a straight right hand which ended it as Sosnowski landed in the corner the ref stopped the fight.

Congratulations to Vitali on a solid win and Vitali now improves to 40-2-0 with 38 victories coming by way of KO.

Klitschko KO's Chambers

Wladimir Klitschko easily defended his titles today with a dominant 12th round KO victory over #1 ranked WBO mandatory Eddie Chambers. Wladimir was in control the whole fight.

Chambers did try to get Wladimir riled up by resorting to picking up Wladimir when Wladimir clinched early in the fight. I think this only helped Wladimir out. The anger is what he needed I think he was taking Chambers lightly until then, and increased pressure for the remainder of the fight.

Wladimir had Chambers in trouble in the 2nd when he landed a right but was unable to finish Chambers. He continued to dominate with the jab and was winning each round easily.

The last couple rounds Eddie was in survival mode and was just running.

Wladimir's trainer Emanuel Steward told him coming into the 12th round that he needs to knock him out. With only 13 seconds left in the 12th, that's exactly what Wladimir did with a beautiful left hook to the jaw that send Eddie to the canvas. Chambers did not get up for a long time afterwords but appears to be ok.

With this win Wladimir now improves to 54(48)-3-0 while Chambers falls to 35(18)-2(1)-0.

I will ad more detail on this fight later and post the full fight video. Until then here's just a nice short video of the amazing final knockout. Enjoy!

Klitschko Wins Unanimous Decision Over Johnson

Tonight, WBC champion Vitali Klitschko retained his title with a unanimous decision over former unbeaten American heavyweight Kevin Johnson. Johnson throughout the fight put up little more than a defensive fight where he tried to make Vitali miss, but put up little offense of his own. Vitali got better and better landing as the fight went on. Johnson became only the second fighter to go the full twelve with Vitali, the other being Timo Hoffmann. In my opinion, Johnson did not win a single round, and judges scorecards read: 120-108, 120-108, 119-109. More information to come!

Haye vs Valuev Video

In a fight that could have been scored either way in my opinion, David Haye came out on top with the win and is the new WBA champion over Nicolai Valuev this Saturday night in Nuremberg, Germany. Here is the video..

Haye vs Valuev Scorecards

So I honestly was not impressed with Haye's performance. All the things he promised he would do such as making the fight exciting by taking chances and not just sitting back and waiting he did not do for almost all the fight. He sat back and he did not get the knockout as he promised. I actually think Holyfield did a better job against Valuev than Haye, and I still think Holyfield got robbed.

How do I think Haye would fair against the Klitschko's? Not a chance this guy is going to do anything to the Klitschko's. If Haye is smart, he will squeeze out as much money as he can fighting defenses over in the UK, and stay away from the Klitschko's for as long as he can.

Klitschko TKO's Arreola!

Vitali Klitschko put on a dominant fight tonight as he totally outboxed the WBC #1 contender Chris Arreola to retain his WBC heavyweight title via a corner stoppage after round 10 of the scheduled 12 round fight.

Arreola tried very hard to get inside Vitali has a A+ strategy that he implemented at will and by round 9 Arreola was getting hit more and more and could not muster any kind of attack. Thus, why the ref stopped the fight after another round of Vitali hitting at will.

Congratulation Vitali on a solid victory, and good luck to Arreola in the future. Like Vitali said, Arreola has the skills to be a champion, just not now.

Foreman's Son Wins 2nd Fight

On Friday, July 21st, son of famous heavyweight champion boxer George Foreman II, George "Monk" Foreman III(2-0, 2 KOs) won his 2nd professional fight by TKO against George Burrage (0-6) at 1:10 of round two at the New Mexico State University’s Pan American Center in Las Cruces, N.M.

So far his competition is pretty light, but he does stand 6'5" and 235 lbs, and with his legendary father training him, anything is possible.

Chambers Beats Dimitrenko!

In a pretty one sided affair, "Fast" Eddie Chambers(35-1, 18 KOs) gave previously unbeaten and #1 WBO ranked Alexander (29-1, 19 KOs) a boxing lesson and won by decision last night in a WBO eliminator at the Color Line Arena in Hamburg, Germany. Over the course of 12 rounds Dimitrenko failed to be consistent on using his height and range, and Chambers exploited this with very good counters and quick hands.

The 1st few rounds saw Chambers getting the better of the exchanges and by round 7 Chambers landed a solid body shot that gave Dimitrenko a standing 8 count.

In round 10 Chambers knocked the mouthpiece out of Dimitrenko and he fell. He survived the round and in round 12 Chambers again rocked Alexander.

Surprisingly, after such a 1 sided fight one judge scored the fight a draw! The scorecards read: 113-113 (Paul Thomas), and 116-111, 117-109

Klitschko Interview After Fight

In English--- talks about being proud of beating Chagaev and being angry with Haye.

Klitschko TKO's Chagaev

Tonight, Wladimir Klitschko(now (53-3, 47 KOs) ) defeated Ruslan Chagaev( now (25-1-1, 17 KOs)) by 10th round TKO to capture the RING heavyweight belt and retain his WBO/IBF/IBO belts in front of 60,000+ at the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.

Klitschko looked clearly dominant from the opening bell working behind his jab with great footwork and a stiff right cross. In round 2 a right cross caught Chagaev right on the chin and Chagaev was down.

The next few rounds saw more of the same with Chagaevs face getting red and partially swollen from the shots that kept landing.

In round 7, Chagaev landed his best punch at the end of the round when Wladimir dropped his guard which I believe was a result of Klitschko thinking the round had ended.

In round 8 Klitschko opened up a cut on Chagaev and easily dominated another round.

At the end of round 9 Klitschko looked like he was just about to finish him but Chagaev was saved by the bell. Chagaev never came out for round 10 as decided for his corner just as the 10th round bell rang, so the fight was labeled a 10th round TKO for Wladimir.

Chagaev put on a good performance and had a solid defense but it was not enough to take on all of Wladidmir's advantages.

Look for Wladimir to take on Alexander Povetkin next his IBF #1 mandatory. Come back for more up-to-date information.

Boytsov KO's Bidenko

Last night Hamburg, Germany based and #5 WBA ranked Denis Boytsov impressively defeated his stablemate and #2 WBA ranked Taras Bidenko by 6th round KO at the 2:00 minute mark in Oberhausen. With this win Boytsov retained his WBA Intercontinental title and added the WBO Europa title.

The fight showed us that Boytsov has very heavy hands and will be up for a title shot very soon.
