Klitschko Arreola Prediction

*from earlier post...

This is my prediction on how the WBC heavyweight championship fight will go this Saturday, September 26th at the Staples Center between current WBC champ Vitali Klitschko and Chris Arreola.

I think Arreola's best chance is to come out guns blazing in hopes to catch Vitali and not worry about running out of energy. I say this because I think any other tactic will be a for sure loss, and it's because of this I see Vitali winning this fight.

If Arreola does come out on fire at the very least if he loses he can show a valiant effort and have the excuse that he wasn't in the best shape possible to go all the rounds etc..

But, I don's see it happening like that, or at least having success at doing it if he does. I think Vitali will control him with his jab and footwork and although Arreola might have the plan to come in and go crazy he will soon become frustrated with getting hit with Vitali's shots and will start to go through the motions.

Vitali will start landing more right crosses by round 4 and by round 6 or 7 I think Arreola will be too tired to mount a proper offense or defense and will start getting hit at almost will. I see this being a TKO stoppage around rounds 7 through 9.

Good luck to Vitali tonight, and if anyone wants to chat with other fans worldwide you can go here during fight time at 10pm ET/ 7pm PT.

  1. I have to disagree with you on 1 thing Kfan.Where you listed body punching as 1 of Vitali's weaknesses I think out of the 2 brothers Vitali is the one who throws body punches if need be. As evidence in the Sanders fight and the Kirk Johnson fight. If his opponent has the gut and is making it available he'll take some shot's. Where as the last couple of Wladimirs opponents have been hiding their face behind both their gloves( Rahman and Chagaev)he rarely took a shot at best

  2. When I say body punching as a weakness, it's not necessarily something he needs -- anymore than his brother--- due to his height and style, but it's something that if he and his brother(especially Wladimir in the above mentioned fights) did use more they may be able to be even more successful at ending their fights sooner, or just be more successful in general(which is actually pretty scary to think about being even better). Right now their height and style make this weakness non-applicable but there could be a time if they fought a much taller opponent and/or skilled one(not saying nobody they have fought has been skilled of course) that having a better body attack would be good. If Vitali threw as many head shots as body punches and threw as many body punches as head shots I would say the exact opposite.

  3. I have a feeling that HBO is going to put the replay of Mayweather on before the fight. I hope it's the other way around. There's also some under card fights that I wouldn't mind seeing.Either way I still hate waiting for the main event.

  4. lol - yeah I'd rather them show the under card as I've heard the Marques Mayweather fight wasn't that exciting anyway. I'd like to see Ustinov the 300 lb 6'7" Ukranian fight and see how good he is for sure.

  5. Didn't see him on the card. I was talking about Boswell fight and Banks fight. Banks is or at least was part of team Klitschko.

    Johnathon Banks
    From Boxrec Boxing Encyclopaedia

    * Three time National Amateur Champion at 178 lbs
    * Has worked with Wladimir Klitschko for several years.
    * Won the IBO title in the Cruiserweight division.
