Haye vs Valuev Video

In a fight that could have been scored either way in my opinion, David Haye came out on top with the win and is the new WBA champion over Nicolai Valuev this Saturday night in Nuremberg, Germany. Here is the video..

Haye vs Valuev Scorecards

So I honestly was not impressed with Haye's performance. All the things he promised he would do such as making the fight exciting by taking chances and not just sitting back and waiting he did not do for almost all the fight. He sat back and he did not get the knockout as he promised. I actually think Holyfield did a better job against Valuev than Haye, and I still think Holyfield got robbed.

How do I think Haye would fair against the Klitschko's? Not a chance this guy is going to do anything to the Klitschko's. If Haye is smart, he will squeeze out as much money as he can fighting defenses over in the UK, and stay away from the Klitschko's for as long as he can.

  1. I am sorry but that was pure genius. Haye made sure that he defeated Valuev and to be honest that's some feat. I mean 7 stone difference, 1ft height difference. Haye out-boxed, out-smarted and let's face it Valuev never actually looked dangerous.
He beats the klitschkos and he is definitely got no other competition! BRING ON THE HAYE!

  2. I am sorry too. I honestly think Holyfield did a better job with sticking and moving and he threw alot more punches than Haye did in his fight with Valuev. That fight was pure genius-- especially for a 46 year old. Plus I think Valuev was in alot better shape in this fight than he was against Holyfield.

I'm a firm believer that if someone is a champion you have to take the fight to them, or be aggressive enough even if you are being evasive to show that you are winning. This fight was questionable. Haye landed the clearer and harder shots, but they were few and far between. He also did this by running the whole time which isn't a positive on any scorecard. Valuev didn't land anything meaningful but was consistent on popping that jab and adding up more points imo. I think that if you look at it from the standpoint that Haye should get bonus points on landing the more effective punches but counteract that with the fact he wasn't throwing alot and was running and the champion usually gets the nod, I think Valuev deserved the win or a draw at worst.
