On Saturday, Russia's Rakhim Chakhkiev won Gold in Bejing in heavyweight boxing over 2007 world champion Clemente Russo of Italy. Chakhkiev beat Iran's Ali Mazaheri 7-3, John Mbumba of France 18-9, and Cuban Osmai Acosta Duarte 10-5 on his way to the top. Duarte ended up with the bronze.
This win brought Russia its 1st boxing Gold at the olympics and makes it a total of 21 gold medals so far. The final score of the bout was 4 - 2 for Rakhim.
